My mind is a cage that keeps me contained.
Here lives all the things I can never say.
Not that you would believe me anyways.
From the outside all things appear to be perfect.
But behind closed doors you just never know.
In public, I give off the appearance of normal.
The world's best actress in action.
But if you could see behind the walls,
you would know it's all a sham.
Still, you see nothing beyond the show.
Content to believe the smile on my face.
Sure, you see the cracks I can't seem to hide.
But it's easiest to pretend they don't exist.
And to leave me here in the darkness, alone.
